imx6 without linux OS

Is it possible to run a small custom boot application on the imx6, with for example a main loop.

And not a linux distribution as OS. So I have full control over the Firmware that is running.

I would like to use the imx6 in an aviation application. For that reason the firmware running on the device needs to be certified and a LINUX distro is not certified.

So is it possible to boot the imx6 without an thirdparty OS.
