Hi all,

Does anyone know if and how it is possible to use iMX6 with NXP ethernet PHY TJA1100HN?

From datasheets it appears that RMII I/O on PHY can run only on 3.3V but iMX6D has 2.5V max.

Is it possible to configure TJA1100HN for 1.8V on RMII I/O? It is not clear from the sheet for me..

Thanks in advance

Michael

Hello Michal Kasparek,

The RGMII interface of the i.MX6D does support only 1.5V, 1.8V and 2.5V.

However, when using RMII interface the NCC_ENET supplies are used, which do support 3.3V. You can find information on the RMII implementation on the i.MX6D on the i.MX6 HW Design Guide.

As for the TJA1100HN, I think it also only supports 3.3V since it’s the standard voltage level of the RMII specification.

I hope this information helps!

Thank you, gusarambula

this helped alot, we somehow missed RMII on iMX6 (described in i.MX6 HW Design Guide in Chapter 12 Using the RMII Interface )

Once again, thank you.
