I am designing a custom board based on i.MX6 quad. I see that datasheet mentions that DDR controller supports DDR3L. Why do freescale evaluation cards are using DDR3L parts connected to 1.5V? Can I use a DDR3L part and connect to 1.35V. Is there a problem why a similar thing was not done on any of the evaluation card?

Hi Raj,

The DDR3L we are using in our evaluation cards supports both 1.35 and 1.5V operation, so we just decided to go with 1.5V, but the MX6 doesn't have any problem with DDR3L at 1.35V. Please just take into account that the PMIC has to be programmed to supply 1.35V to the DDR rail.

Best regards.

Jorge.

Hi Jorge,

Does Linux BSP (L3.0.35_4.1.0_ER) support changing the DDR voltage from 1.5V to 1.35V?

Actually, I want to use DDR3L and MMPF0100F0EP.

But MMPF0100F0EP initial output voltage is 1.5V as you mentioned.

So I'm happy if Linux BSP supports the DDR voltage changing.

Best Regards,
