been reading a bit in the hw ref on how to configure fastboot (in my case, i.mx8 mini + eMMC only, no separate spi flash)
anyone that can help clarify
- what exactly is the difference between "normal" emmc boot vs "fast boot"?
- any relative number in terms of the diff in speed between the two?
Hi dav1
for differencies one can check sect.10.3.3.9 MMC fast boot
i.MX 8M Mini Applications Processor Reference Manual
Unfortunately I am not aware of fast boot times.
Best regards

Thanks Igor,
I've read the TRM section, no real details on the benefit of fast boot, other than the fact that it's called "fast" :-)
Since there is a bit of work to prepare for "fast-boot", I was curious to know if anyone had an idea of how much time is saved by this method.
ps. I like 'uuu' and seems it's not supported as fastboot needs some hard offsets. Any plans to change this?
Hi dav1
more detailed explanation can be found in i.MX6DQ Reference Manual (eMMC boot)
