Watchdog on imx

Hello,

What do you think of using the imx internal watchdog timer with fsl,ext-reset-output dts property to output reset signal to PMIC ?

Is it safe enough, and guaranteed that the Low frequency reference clock feeding the WDOG block doesn't stop in case of hanging ?

Or perhaps should I use an hardware reset handler ?

yes using internal watchdog to reset pmic is fine solution and it is safe.

It is safe also in u-boot ? Is it possible in u-boot to use the GPIO outpout from the watchdog ?
