Dear,
If you have a startup issue where the system stops at usbcore prompth.
This is not a grounding issue with LCD or USB cables.
This is due to weak power supply. Just solder a 470 µF capa at the input of the freescale IMX53 board.
The power supply design of this board is very weak. This modification solves this startup issue.
