Some accuracy is needed when configuring U-boot environment after deploying

images for SD / MMC and eMMC. At first glance - practically the same thing, only

MMC numbers are different.

From "i.MX_6Dual6Quad_Sabre-SD_Linux_User_Guide.pdf", section 9.2  (Run the Image from MMC/SD) :

For SD / MMC.

U-Boot > setenv bootcmd_mmc 'run bootargs_base bootargs_mmc;mmc dev 2;  mmc read

${loadaddr} 0x800 0x2000;bootm'

Please pay attention - mmc dev 2.

For eMMC.

U-Boot >setenv bootcmd_mmc 'run bootargs_base bootargs_mmc;mmc dev 3;mmc read ${loadaddr} 0x800 0x2000;bootm'

Please pay attention - mmc dev 3.

So, please try to setup correct environment for SD/MMC (or eMMC).

Have a great day,
Yuri

Dear Yuri

I  come  across  the problem by  my  custom board  which  is  something  different  from  demo  board.

my   board  should  use "mmc dev 2",else  it  can  not run.

the    attachment   is different between  the eMMC  Storage  of  mx6DL-SDP demo board    and   my  custom board.

SO    which   codes  should  I   change?

Please check Linux configuration as Weidong recommended,

Chapter 27 (MMC/SD/SDIO Host Driver), section  27.2.2 (Menu Configuration Options)

Hello, Cody,

Please try to modiy BSP source code to register uSDHC3 port firstly! This can ensure eMMC iNAND Flash to be /dev/mmcblk0.

Your dmesg output says "using ADMA".  Could you be hitting the problem described in ERR004536, "uSDHC: ADMA Length Mismatch Error occurs if the AHB read access is slow, when reading data from the card" ?

Dear  Weidong Sun

I am now   reading  Chapter 67   Ultra Secured Digital Host Controller (uSDHC)-----67.8   uSDHC Memory Map/Register Definition   of    i.MX-6Solo6DualLite Applications.pdf.

But  there   are  so  many  Register  ......

can  you  give  me  some  suggestions  ?

Thanks.

Hi, Cody,

From the booting log you provided, I didn't find eMMC device, It should be /dev/mmcblk0, So you have lost it! Please check your kernel configuration!

Regards,

Weidong

Dear  weidong.sun:

Thank  you  very  much  for  your  suggestion.

I  have  check kernel configuration,it  is  ok.

The  same  image  can  run in mx6dl-sdp  board.

I  find  the  difference of  urat log  between mx6DL-SDP demo board    and  my  custom board  is  as  following :

mmc0: new high speed DDR MMC card at address 0001

mmcblk0: mmc0:0001 SEM08G 7.39 GiB

mmcblk0boot0: mmc0:0001 SEM08G partition 1 2.00 MiB

mmcblk0boot1: mmc0:0001 SEM08G partition 2 2.00 MiB

mmcblk0: p1

mmcblk0boot1: unknown partition table

mmcblk0boot0: unknown partition table

So   there  must be  something  wrong  with mmc.

Moreover , the    attachment   is different between  the eMMC  Storage  of  mx6DL-SDP demo board    and   my  custom board.

From  that  ,we  can  see   my  custom board  used  the SD3  PIN,while  mx6DL-SDP demo board used  the SD4  PIN.

So   where  should  I  change?

Thanks.
