Linux built-in module pci-endpoint-test does not create misc device node under /dev on i.MX8 MP

The Linux built-in module pci-endpoint-test should create a misc device node under /dev on the Root Comples side. But this is missing on our system. No error message is visible via dmesg.

Does anyone see the same issue and what is the solution?
