Installing i.MX layers host packages for a Ubuntu 16.04 ?

Hi All,

I have ubuntu 16.04 as my host machine to build Yocto for NXP i.MX 8MQuad Evaluation Kit (EVK). 

I am following instructions here at Chapter 3 to prepare Host packages. In page 5, there is a instructions to install i.MX layers host packages for ubuntu 12.04 and ubuntu 14.04. So my questions is how am I going to install i.MX host packages for a Ubuntu 16.04?

Hello J.

Yes, you would need to install the packages as you would if you were using Ubuntu 14.04. Please follow these instructions as if you were using Ubuntu 14.04.

There is a known issue when building the SDL file when using Ubuntu 16.04, you can find more information on how to fix this on section 3 of the i.MX Yocto User’s Guide.
