IMX8QM: MIPI DSI display resolutions problem with CAR and CAR2 build not in Android

Hi All,

• IMX8QM-MEK + Android 11 Automotive + MIPI-DSI Display Interface
• Resolutions - 1280x720

I have issue with display resolution for following Android 11 -  CAR (mek_8q_car-userdebug) and CAR2 (mek_8q_car2-userdebug) build.

But, resolutions is proper with General Android 11 (mek_8q-userdebug). So, from this display timing parameters and frequency proper. Because it is proper with general android 11.

What could be the issue with CAR build w.r.t Display resolution ?

I tried following but it is not working,

ro.boot.gui_resolution=720p

ro.boot.displaymode=720p

Exactly, I am getting this display resolution issue under CAR and CAR2 build. Not in General Android build.

There is no error message. I able to check the current resolution by using wm size command. As per current requirements the size is 1280x720.

But, resolution is not proper

Basically, it is look like Car Launcher overlap issue. Please conform.
