I.MX6 PCIe related issue

We have connected Ethernet controller (which says it supports v2.1 (2.5GT/s) rate and is configured to x1) to I.MX6 QUAD , whereas i.mx6 quad says it supports PCIe 2.0 PHY supporting both the 5 Gbp/s data rate of the PCI Express Gen 2.0 specifications as well as being backwards compatible to the 2.5Gb/s Gen 1.1 specification.

  Is  this Ethernet controller compatible with this I.MX6 Quad processor??

v2.1 works well with PCIe 2.0 PHYs as reported on PCIe forums.
