How to route audio when using SOX play and rec

Hi,

I'm working on an iMX6UL based HW. I have a PCIe modem connected to the HW and I am able to establish a voice call by using AT commands on one of the modem's USB endpoints.

I have succeeded in getting audio paths configured when I am using 'aplay' and 'arecord', but there are audio delay issues when using 'aplay' and 'arecord'. The audio is delayd for several seconds (1-10 seconds, this is more or less random), especially the audio coming from mobile phone to DUT is delayed.

So, as another experiment I am trying to use SOX 'play' and 'rec' to set audio paths, just to test out the audio quality and to see whether the audio delay issue still remains.

The problem is that I haven't figured out how to set up the audio paths when using 'play' and 'rec'.

If you have any advice or hint on this topic, please let me know! I have tried using parameter AUDIODEV in different ways, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

My SW is Yocto warrior based, Linux Kernel is 4.14 based.

Thanks for your support!

Best regards,

Jari
