Dear all,
We have a question about Operating Ranges of VDD_SOC_IN for i.MX6Solo.
We refer to the Table 8. Operating Ranges in the IMX6SDLCEC(Rev. 6, 08/2016).
The following is explained in comment of VDD_SOC_IN(Run mode: LDO enabled).
"VPU ≤ 328 MHz, VDD_SOC and VDD_PU LDO outputs (VDD_SOC_CAP and
VDD_PU_CAP) = 1.225 V maximum and 1.15 V minimum."
<Q1>
Can we set the same Setpoint value to VDD_SOC_CAP and VDD_PU_CAP?
<Q2>
When VPU is not used, is the condition of VDD_SOC_CAP and VDD_PU_CAP necessary?
<Q3>
Maximum value of VDD_SOC_CAP and VDD_PU_CAP are 1.225V.
However, these Core supply output voltage (LDO enabled) in Absolute Maximum Ratings are Max 1.4V.
What kind of meaning does Core supply output voltage have?
Best Regards,
Yuuki
Hello,
Please look at my comments below.
1.
According to footnote 4 of the Datasheet :
"VDD_SOC LDO output set point is equal to the VDD_PU LDO output set point."
2.
In any case - for Run mode with LDO enabled - VDD_SOC LDO output set point should
be is equal to the VDD_PU LDO output.
3.
According to the CAUTION of section 4.1.1 (Absolute Maximum Ratings) :
"Stresses beyond those listed under Table 6 may cause permanent damage to
the device. These are stress ratings only. Functional operation of the device at
these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under “recommended
operating conditions” is not implied. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated
conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability."
Have a great day,
Yuri

Dear Yuri-san,
Thank you for your support.
Furthermore, would you tell me the following contents?
When VPU works at 352MHz (> 328MHz), Would you tell me the voltage range of the set point of VDD_SOC_CAP and VDD_PU_CAP?
When VPU does not be used, Is the condition from 1.15V to 1.225V necessary?
(For example, May we set them to 1.25V?)
Best Regards,
Yuuki
Hello, Yuuki-san !
As for VPU frequency greater, than 328 MHz - please refer to the following :
How do you increase VPU clock on i.MX6S?
Even, when VPU is not used, the condition from 1.15V to 1.225V is recommended.
Regards,
Yuri.
