Hello,

What is the relationship between the following concepts: SRIOn, portn and rapidIO controller in the T4240RM.pdf?

I feel confusion about the concepts: SRIOn(n is 1, 2), RapidIO portn(n is 1, 2) and RapidIO controller.

Does there three concepts in fact mean the same thing or different thing?

For example:

1. In the chapter:  2.2 Global Source and Target IDs

pastedImage_0.png

From above figure, it seems that port 1 means rapidIO controller1, and port2 means rapidIO controller2.

2. in the chapter: SRIO memory map

pastedImage_1.png

From above figure, it seems that SRIO1 means RapidIO controller1 and SRIO1 include two ports: port1 and port2.

Could you please help to clarify it?

Thank you!

Carl

Have a great day,

Yes SRIOn, portn and rapidIO controller in fact mean the same thing. There are “two Serial RapidIO 2.0 controllers/ports running at up to 5 GHz with Type 11” as the manual says in chapter 1.3.2 Features summary.

Hello Serguei,

Thanks a lot for your clarification!

But I still have some confusion about the T4240RM.pdf.

From the below figure, it seems that there are two SRIO in all for T4240 Soc, and each

SRIO includes two ports, port1 and port2.

And more curiously is that when I use Codewarrior to connect the board and see the register of

T4240, find that there is no SRIO2, but only have SRIO1.

Does the SRIO controller  with the base address 0xC_1000 in fact not exist?

In the chapter: “20.5 SRIO Memory Map/Register Definition”

SRIO1:

SRIO2:

Thanks a lot!
