CRTOUCH recommended for new designs?

I'm just looking for confirmation that the CRTOUCH has no official Linux driver support and is not recommended for new designs. If so, any recommended alternatives? 

EDIT:

Just a little more context: I am receiving conflicting information from our NXP distributor, who is saying that NXP tells him that the CRTOUCH *is* recommended for new designs, and I'm trying to work out who is telling the truth.

Please, can someone at NXP clarify this for me?
