Hello,

in the list of S32K3 - Real-Time Drivers for Cortex-M packages, I see different SW quality status: RTM, EAR, BETA, etc.

Is there a description of such SW quality status terms by any chance?

Thanks

Best regards,

Alessandro

Hello Alessandro,

EAR and BETA releases are not fully qualified and tested. EAR and BETA releases are release candidates that can be used by customer for development and qualification. Is not recommended to be used in production. For more details, check the Release notes document.

Hi Daniel,

thanks for your response.

So if I understood correctly, these are the possible SW quality status:

  • RTM, i.e. Ready To Manufacture, refers to a SW that can be used in production series
  • EAR, i.e. Early Access Release, refers to a SW that can be used during development, but not in production series
  • BETA, ...

What is the difference between BETA and EAR?

Is there any other SW type?

Best regards,

Alessandro

Hello Alessandro,

There is a Quality Package for the Ready To Manufacture version but not for the Early Access Release.

You can find the package in your NXP SW account.

You should be able to access it through the S32K3 Standard Software link:
