T4240 SGMII Connection

we connected two ports of T4240 to an gigabit ethernet switch. Serdes sg1.5 and sg1.6 is connected to Marvell switch. Switch seems stable as its able to auto-negotiate to dual phy connected to other ports of switch. The link between the Switch and T4240 SGMII ports are not happening. If we enable auto negotiation at both ends, seems auto-negotiation done is completed but link is not up.If we force the link at both ends(by disabling auto negotiation), not able to communicate between them(ping command fails with ARP timeout). We used SDK2.0 and working at u-boot level.

1. Is that correct to use meMAC mdio functions to configure the SGMII serdes and same mdio functions are used to configure the PHYs(if present)

2. Will SGMII serdes supports forcing the link to gigabit (Disable auto negotation)

3. Is there any other configurations to be done on u-boot for communicating between Switch and T4240 ports.

rgds,

sk

Have a great day,

1 There are two types of MDIO Ethernet Management Interfaces (EMIs), internal and external. The internal MDIOs support the MDIO-n for EMACn port configuration and management. The external MDIOs support PHY device configuration and management through dedicated MDIOs (MDIO1 and MDIO2). The base addresses for each internal and external MDIO are different.

2 Yes it will

3 Just configure properly both ports for network they belong.
