How to use the multiplexed configuration pins

As mentioned in the P1022RM, the configuration pins are multiplexed with some of the bidirectional pins.

In case one of interfaces connected to these pins needs a pull up resistor, for instance (WE# of the NAND Flash (LFALE)) and I need to input a 0 to the config pin of the processor for a particular configuration, how can I achieve this (without an FPGA or a CPLD) as I cannot connect a pull up and a pull down on the same pin/connection.

See below technical support comment:

All configuration signals (including LFALE) have to be pulled to the desired values (either high or low) during POR.After POR the POR configuration signals are pure outputs and, thus, are actively driven.
