Bonjour Philippe,
Could you please take a look at few questions (see attached) regarding the OL detection on the MC33814? I have tried to look at the AN12226, but am still unable to clarify them.
Thanks in advance for looking into it!
Best regards,
Tomas
Bonjour Philippe,
Thanks so much for your answers.
Here is the feedback from the DFAE, could you please comment on this?
It seems that SG and OL have the same detection logic. Isn’t it?
We received a request from the customer to correct the contents of the data sheet.
"6.1 Output OFF open load fault", and we would appreciate it if possible.
In particular, we would like to ask you to review the following text:
``The rising edge of CSB triggers the built-in fault delay timer.
The timer must time out before the fault comparator is enabled to detect a faulted threshold''
Best regards,
Tomas
Bonjour Tomas,
Sorry for the delay, I needed additional data on the test program.
It seems that SG and OL have the same detection logic. Isn’t it?
--> Short to ground and Openload at turn ON are detected by the same comparator (Vout < VSG) and same deglitcher time (and reported by same flag).
The rising edge of CSB triggers the built-in fault delay timer.
The timer must time out before the fault comparator is enabled to detect a faulted threshold''
--> The deglitch timer for the openload at the OFF state is enabled at turn OFF of the driver and will start when the fault comparator toggles. I have not found, in the documents I have got, any link with CSB signal.
Cordially,
Philippe
