MC33772CTC0AE I2C for I/O Expander

Hi community,

I would like to know if the I2C predisposed on the MC33772CTC0AE can be used only to interface an external EEPROM or I can use it to communicate with an external device like an I/O Expander (e.g PCA9539PW/Q900,118)?

Hi Alessandro,

The I2C interface on the MC33771/2 BCCs is intended to be used only with an external EEPROM to store calibration parameters defined by the user. Unfortunately it does not allow interfacing other ICs such as I/O Expanders etc.
