ASC8852A Image processor - Is the product available for future designs ?

We would like to use ASC8852A in one of our RF applications for video processing.

Has the device been in production ?

Is it available for future design ?

As the ASC8852A Product Details page shows:

the current product Life Cycle stage is Product Maturity/Saturation. According to the Life Cycle Model codes:

http://www.nxp.com/webapp/sps/site/eialink.jsp

the product shipment is still possible, but its manufacturing volume begins to decrease. The next Life Cycle stage is Not Recommended for New Designs, and then the product becomes out of production soon. So, it seems to be not a good idea to use it for a long-term production planning. For the current shipments, please contact your local NXP office.
