V2X technology has the potential to drastically reduce road accidents and improve the traffic flow by fusing in-car sensor data with data obtained from other road users and from the surrounding infrastructure - visibly or unvisbily and far beyond the driver's line of sight. Vehicle to cloud data communication provides a pathway for anonymous data collection and dissemination. When the true potential for V2X is realized and it becomes a true part of the vehicle safety system it is vital that the authenticity and security of data are guaranteed. In addition, the vehicle control units that coordinate active stability systems must be protected against external influences that might subvert the mechanisms design. Low-power is a system level challenge. Unfortunately, there is not just one feature that resolves the challenge. With LPC, we will focus on delivering low-power capabilities across a broad range of products: Low-power boot, intelligent clocking, ultra-efficient processing, flexible low-power modes and autonomous, low-power peripherals. In this session, we focus on each one of these capabilities, how they address the challenges of designing low-power applications and highlight differentiators LPC MCUs offer the low-power market. What's the most efficient way to communicate with peripherals, how to optimize data transfers, the effects different power modes and clock gating functions have on energy. This session discusses these topics plus explains how one can leverage the unique modes and features available on LPC MCUs to improve energy efficiency of IoT applications and other embedded systems.

During this course we will review how to use the new analog Freedom board FRDM-12XSF available for 12V eXtreme Switch devices thanks to the analog Processor Expert software and Kinetis Design Studio component. This training will cover full system enablement from hardware (MCU + analog), software (MCU agnostic) perspectives and demonstrate how to quickly drive different type of loads (resistive, inductive and capacitive). NFC pairing makes life in a multi-device world more convenient. Tap-to-pair has become a common habit when connecting an NFC-enabled smartphone conveniently to a wireless speaker. Bringing this experience to the next level, even a multi-speaker audio system can be set up with NFC. If all speakers are equipped with an NFC chip, you simply tap one speaker to another to establish the Bluetooth® connection. That's what we call a true wireless stereo system - and it works with any phone, no matter if it is NFC-enabled. Same use case can be shown with NFC headsets. The workshop will guide participants through the implementation of an NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing use case. All participants should bring an NFC Enabled Android Device running Android version (Kit Kat) 4.4x or higher. In addition please install "NFC TagWriter" and "NFC TagInfo" from the Google Play Store.
