Is the IID of a MiFARE Plus Card confidential ?

Hi,

I have some difficulties to understand what is the IID of a MiFARE card. I have understood that it is a unique number, but i can not understand if the IID is confidential for each card.

Is a IID confidential ?

If yes, how can retrieve it ?

If no, where can i get precise information about IID in general ?

Thank you for your answer. I have already read the document you mentionned, and some cases cover multiple type of MiFARE Cards. I have read all documents for MiFARE Plus cards, so I guess I will keep looking in these.

By any chance, does this application note that talks about the MIFARE Type Identification Procedure help you?
