Hello

I am trying to start a new project with 56F83783 chip. I am using our board design, so I want to start a project under MCUxpresso IDE as bareboard project. MCUXpresso config recognize this chip, and the configuration process passed ok. However, when I want to import the config file to the IDE I am getting an error message about selecting processor, I cant find this chip in the IDE list. How can I write the product software? freescale had a wonderful tool with Processor Expert but NXP stopped supporting it and it does not recognize my chip. so what is the alternative? please help

Hi,

Please use CW+MCUXPresso SDK.

SDK download:

https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com/en/welcome

On CW side, we need to install update.

Two option to install update4:
1.Online
Open Codewarrior, click help -> Install New Software. The settings are as shown in Figure 2. Click Next to install.

2.Offline
Download (via above link) CodeWarrior for MCU 11.1 Update4.
For details about how to download and install a package, see an example from https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=INSTALL-CODEWARRIOR-DSC

For detail, see attached.

Have a nice day,

Jun Zhang

sorry, I tried it but it does not work as the Xpresso IDE does not recognize the 56F83783 chip and I am getting an error message. Maybe you know about a patch for this chip - you'll make me very happy...

The Xpresso config tool recognize this chip, and I defined everything, it worked good and created the files, but I can not import it to the IDE. So, I do not understand: If NXP stopped supporting CW platform, and moved to MCUXpresso, this tool should support all the new devices.

Jun, I am not a hobbyist, I am running a development house, and I want to know that I can relay on your development platform. I worked with freescale so many years and never had problem with development software without support. Please do your best to solve this situation...

I found a document suggesting to create configuration with SDK and import it to old CW11. Does anyone have more information how to import it into CW and embed it in CW project with 56F83783 chip?

Thanks Jun, it worked and project is in development process. It is a strange that NXP dont have a direct way to work with this products family, but it works. Does NXP intend to "kill" the old DSC family?
