Running KL16 @ 49MHz

Using the slow 32.7KHz Internal RC for clocking, and using FLL to boost core clock up to 47.98.   In the specification, it states the max core clock is 48MHz, but when using IRC and FLL, there is up to 3% error in the clocking, resulting in a core clock of ~49MHz, which exceeds the max of 48MHz.

What are the adverse effects at running the KL16 @ 49MHz?

Thanks, in advance

Scott

Dear Scott Kerstein,

I do not think that you will have problems with this, you may have problems if you exceed  for more. but 1Mhz above is not a problem.

Best regards.

Thanks.  Is this documented?

Dear Scott Kerstein, this ± 3% that you see may vary depending on the voltage and temperature so you will not have always a 3% error.  if you are working on the range  of 0-70°C and you have a fixed voltage  your max error will be ±1.5%.

if you exceed the MCU specifications you will  be more susceptible to fails.
