MCF??? running linux NOT uclinux

We need to choose a coldfire processer that supports linux, not the uclinux. also we expect the speed will not lower then 133Mhz,

I need to know the part number.

Hi,

If you want to run linux, you have to choose processor with MMU, so look at the Coldfire V4e family, MCF547x and MCF548x, you will find linux BSP  here:

Thanks for your advise. Are you familiar with Coldfire? I never used it before. I need a mpu running a linux on it, imx dragonball series also have MMU, isn't it?

If you need to choose, will you use coldfire or imx? Which is stronger? What's the mainly consideration about the choice?

It depends what you want to do with. I think that coldFire is suitable for industrial applications, IMX series for multimedia applications and Power architecture for communication and high end automotive/industrial applications.
First, you have to know, how much money would you spend for processor, 2nd do you really need to run linux ( if no, there's  alternative solutions like RTEMS, FreeRTOS, uClinux), and do you need real time applications (probably no, because you want to run linux ), but, if yes Coldfire is more suitable for that. ARM architecture is suitable when you need to treat high data volume with complex algorithm (Power architecture's too).
