Probably the answer is more target dependent.
To avoid confusion I recommended you to refer to the right compiler manual.
All documentations are located in the installation folder \CW_MCU_v10.6\MCU\Help\PDF
A compiler manual is available for each architecture.
Inside the manual you will find information and most is the time an example is included too.
If you're using a classic version the same folder \Help\PDF is installed by default too.
