Debugger Display Setting

Hello all,

I was searching for a way to turn on the symbol hint during debugging. I read from a debugger manual that one

can switch on the symbol hint from the debugger's display setting (edit>preference>debugger...). But my preferences

does not provide the option for the debugger. I am using Codewarrior IDE v5.9.0 build 5294. Is the missing debugger option

to be expected from this version that I am using?

Thanks in advance.

Yours

Huck

what kind of "symbol hint" do you need during debug? can you please upload a screenshot of it? I need to check if CW for HCS12 v5.1 have this feature.

does your CW5.1 never have "symbol hint"? or it ever does ,but doesn't have now?

Hello Jennie,

I have found out how to use the ‚Symbol Hint‘ in my debugger. I first need to highlight the parameter and then the value of the parameter does appear. Previously I forgot to highlight the parameter. I just float my

Cursor over the parameter and expected to see the value of the parameter, which is not how it works.

Thanks for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Huck

Hello Jennie,

I installed my codewarrior version 2 weeks ago, I do not know if there is ever ‚symbol hint‘ in this version of my codewarrior. I read from debugger user manual that by placing the cursor over a variable, the value of

the variable should appear. The manual also indicated that one can turn on the ‘symbol hint’ through the ‘Display setting’. However, I could not find the display setting on my codewarrior.

Yours sincerely,

Huck

Hello TICS Fiona,

thanks for your reply. The CodeWarrior version that I am using is:

CodeWarrior Development Studio for the S12(X) Version 5.1, build 10221.

I am attaching the Installed Plugins.TXT file so that you can get the information of all the Plugins I am using.
