I have been using CW6.3 on Win 7 x64 for several weeks without problem. Then today I started getting a notice that "There is a P&E USB driver licensing issue on your machine. Please download..... id=53"

Of course this does not fix the problem. I think that Windows defender just figured out that I have XP x32 drivers running in compatibility mode and is rejecting them. I noticed a WD update today sometime.

Does anyone know a way around this? I don't see anything in WD blocking the driver. I guess I will check with Microsoft tomorrow but that is like asking Walmart for the products in Walgreens. I know I am going to get a ..."but you are not supposed to do that"... from someone in the Far East help desk.

I was actually starting to like windows. I guess I could restore the system and unplug the net so that no updates happen... Any suggestions?? Thanks

I'm having the same issue.

Last week the system was running fine and I was able to launch HIWAVE and download and debug on hardware. This week when I launch the debugger I get the same error message and HIWAVE cannot find my Cyclone Pro.

I have version 10 of the drivers installed, and the PE Micro software (PROG08SZ) can find and use the Cyclone Pro just fine.

Keep in mind that I had to jump through some hoops to get CodeWarrior 6.3 to even work on Win 7 (x64) in the first place.

Since CodeWarrior 10 doesn't support my MCU, I need this program to work.

Is there a fix for this? Or can you please release an updated version of CW 6.3 that functions on Win 7 64-bit?

Or just update CW 10 to support all hardware platforms (I use the HC08GP32). Having to constantly fight with the IDE to get it to work is wasting my dev time.

Okay... I reviewed the recent changes to my machine. In the last week there were 4 Windows updates.

One seemed applicable:

KB2492386 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2492386

It's an update for the Windows Compatability list.

Uninstalling this update removed the problem entirely.

So this means that something in HIWAVE or the driver it is trying to use (but not the official PE Micro Cyclone Pro v10 driver) is considered incompatible by Windows.

Again, please fix CW 6.3 so that it can function correctly on Win7 64-bit, as this is a very common OS and CW 10 does not support your entire device line.
