Hello Miller,
I just did a quick search and find that the ADJD-S311 is an RGB Digital Color Sensor that communicates via IIC.
Since the sensor you're using is NOT Freescale, we're not able to help. However, I moved your question to the 8-bit Microcontrollers . Perhaps they have an IIC sample code they can share.
