CodeWarrior - Coldfire Assembler

Hi All,

I'm currently considering a CPU swap on a current design from a HC08 to a Coldfire V1 (MCF51JM32).

We use Code Warrior v5.9.0 at the moment for the HC08, everything is written in assembler. I am just wondering if Code Warrior will support assembly language programming for the MCF51 series CPU's?

I had a quick look but it appears to only want to allow C on the Coldfire, am I wrong?

Thanks,

Ross

Ross,

All of the Codewarrior tools will support ASM programming.

If you do choose to use 'C', I suggest updating to the latest version as the 'C' compiler has gone through several updates to improve code density and speed of execution.

But if you like to write code in ASM like me...  :smileyhappy:  Your still covered.

ASM for me all the way, I've done a lot of 68000 ASM so I'd prefer to stick with ASM on the Coldfire. Thanks for the reply.

Cheers,
Ross
