JN5169 internal LNA

I am adding a FEM, Skyworks 66112, into the RFcircuit for magnifying the output power. Meanwhile, I am investigating the effect to receiver sensitivity as well.

What's the noise figure and gain of the internal LNA in JN5169?

Hi Xi,

the JN5169-001-M06-2 is high power and has an FL connector. However, the Block diagram shows the M06 has a PA/LNA SE2431.

The SE2431 has a

-Low FEM noise figure of 2dB typical.

-Rx Gain(dB) Typ: 12.5

-TX Gain (dB): 23

Gain is the sum of the LNA + down-mixer + filter for each of the 3 possible gains (high, middle, low):

                                 Rx NF (nominal value)

High gain: 61dB         11dB      Pin=-70dBm @ch11

Mid gain:   33dB         19dB      Pin=-45dBm @ch11

Low gain:  13dB          39dB      Pin=-24dBm @ch13

Mario

Hi Mario,

From the datasheet of JN5169-001-M06-2, I saw the receiver sensitivity was improved from -96dBm to -100dBm with SE2431.

As the Rx sensitivity improved by around 4dB, I assume the noise figure of JN5169 internal LNA is around 7dB.

The noise figure of SKY66112 is around 2dB, with a typical Rx gain of 11dB slightly lower than SE2431.

Therefore, I expect the Rx sensitivity would be improved by 4dB as well, if I add a SKY66112 between JN5169 and antenna port.

Do you agree with that?

Best regards,

Xi Zhan

Hi Xi,

It is possible to achieve the 4 dB extra that you want,

Note: Please be sure that you are care of the control lines and the machining pad of 50 ohms.

Mario
