Want to serial download from UART of MCIMX6UL-EVK

Hi all

My customer use MCIMX6UL-EVK and want to download a image to eMMC over UART.

We found a following thread and tried it but can not succeed.

i.MX USB Loader

Can the "imx_usb_loader(imx_uart)" use with MCIMX6UL-EVK ?

If yes, please tell me how to modify the configuration file.

Hello,

  The i.MX USB Loader  is intended  for USB, not UART

I'm checking a following page.

I got a following description. So I guess it can download from UART.

Am I wrong ?

This utility allows to download and execute code on Freescale i.MX5/i.MX6 and Vybrid SoCs through the Serial Download Protocol (SDP). Depending on the board, there is usually some kind of recovery button to bring the SoC into serial download boot mode, check documentation of your hardware.

The utility support USB and UART as serial link.

Hello,

  The MX usb loader uses UART/USB converter to work with UART ports of i.MX.

This may provide some problems, in particular "the UART link [host side - Yuri] uses
hardware flow control using RTS/CTS, so make sure those are available".

Please check if the converter provides the needed settings for i.MX6 UL UART, as shown

in Table 8-39 (UART Configuration Details) of i.MX6 UL RM (IMX6ULRM, Rev. 1, 04/2016)
