Are the i2C pins in MK22FN512VLH12 are 5V tolerant

We are trying to interface a 5V external system I2C to the I2C of MK22FN512VLH12. We would like to know if the I2C pins on this microcontroller are 5V tolerant or do we need to have a bidirectional level translator to be able to interface with external 5V system

Hi RAVIKUMAR,

Kinetis has 5V tolerant inputs on many devices. This does not mean the outputs are 5V tolerant.

The open drain outputs must be pulled to VDD.

So the level translator is needed.
