I cannot find JLink Port in KDS PEMicro Debugger

I follow the instruction and JLink CDC UART Port can be seen in device manager. However, I cannot find it in KDS PEMicro Debugger. Could you kindly help me about this?

One more question: I am using KDSK example -- gpio-example-frdmk64f. Why both 'debug' one and 'release' one are included in every type of debbugers? What are the differences between 'debug' and 'release'?

Thanks in advance!

Hello ,

sure - if you want to use PEMicro, you should install OpenSDA from websites P&E Microcomputer Systems

and load new firmware.

Please, don ´t forget to following steps for loading :

1.Unplug the USB cable (if attached)

2.Press and hold the Reset button.

3. Plug in a USB cable from a USB Host to the OpenSDA USB port.

4. Release the RESET/Bootloader button.

5. A removable drive will be visible in the host file system with a volume label of BOOTLOADER

For more details you can visit OpenSDA User´s Guide or very useful could be also

I hope it helps,

Iva
