HI everyone

I am using freescale K70 series microcontroller (part number MK70FN1M0VMJ12) I have interfaced Ethernet switch IC ( part number LAN9303i) in MII. Whether Can I use this physical interface in RMII mode by keeping MII pins remain connected or I need to make NC( not connected ). Please confirm on this

Awaiting your reply

Hi,

There is no problem to keep MII pin connected (customer can set MII related pin with another function or keep the default setting at Pin Control Register n (PORTx_PCRn) register [MUX] bits).

The RMII operates at 50 MHz and requires synchronization between the PHY and the ENET RMII interface clock input(EXTAL).

Wish it helps.

Have a great day,
Ma Hui
