Rapid development environment for RT1010?

Hi,

I'm a beginner with NXP/iMX MCUs but not with embedded software development in general.

Now I have a RT1010 MCU and want to

  • receive data via SDPIF
  • send data via UART

As usual I do not want to develop everythign from scratch and hack every single register for my own but prefer to use existing software layers.

So my question: where to start? What development environment and hardware abstraction layers does NXP offer for this MCU? What I'm looking for is something similar to ATMEL Start or ST's CubeMX.

Thank you for pushing me into the right direction!

Hello
I hope you are well.
You can use MCUXpresso IDE to develop your applications: https://www.nxp.com/design/software/development-software/mcuxpresso-software-and-tools-/mcuxpresso-i...

The MCUXpresso SDK is a comprehensive software enablement package designed to simplify and accelerate application development with Arm® Cortex®-M-based devices from NXP, including its general purpose, crossover, and wireless-enabled MCUs. The MCUXpresso SDK includes production-grade software with integrated RTOS (optional), integrated enabling software technologies (stacks and middleware), reference software, and more: https://mcuxpresso.nxp.com/en/welcome

Additionally, this getting started guide might be helpful: https://www.nxp.com/document/guide/getting-started-with-i-mx-rt1010-evaluation-kit:GS-MIMXRT1010-EVK

You can find related trainings on the training tab of the product page: https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/arm-microcontrollers/i-mx-rt-crossover-...

If you have more questions do not hesitate to ask me.
Best regards,
Omar
