The default SDK demo code should work at 1Ghz.

This Application note might be helpful: AN12437: i.MX RT Series Performance Optimization – Application Note (nxp.com)

Additionally, to reach that frequency on the consumer-grade product it is important that the voltage is on overdrive(1.1V - 1.15V) and enable FBB. You might want to use Config Tools to enable this frequency.
