full-scale error voltage or gain error (EG)

I am reading RT600, Rev. 2.0, 1 April 2022 datasheet.

Does the full-scale error voltage spec shown below mean, when I measure 1.8V, I can have up to +/- 1.8*0.3/100 V error? (i.e. (+/-) 5.4 mV error at full scale of 1.8V?)

Does this error scale linearly? e.g. if I measure 1V, will it be +/- 3mV error? or 5.4mV error will be present at any voltage measured?

Thanks.

Hello Kerry, Thanks for the response.

  1. Is there a way to reduce this error?
  2. Does RT600 support ADC self calibration?
  3. Does RT600 contain an internal bandgap reference for ADC correction?

Thanks.

  Hi @rkandiah ,

1 Is there a way to reduce this error?

=>Answer: From software side, I didn't find the calibration register.

So, maybe the hardware can improve it, please check this application note:

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN4373.pdf

2. Does RT600 support ADC self calibration?

=>Answer: No, no register to realize it.

3.Does RT600 contain an internal bandgap reference for ADC correction?

=>Answer: Have internal bandgap, but didn't used to the correction, in fact, bandgap also have the error rate.

Wish it helps you!

Best Regards,

Kerry

Hi @rkandiah ,

Thank you for your interest in the NXP MIMXRT product, I would like to provide service for you.

My understanding is the error rate is linearly, at least, here you can consider it linear.

If you measure 1V, it will it be +/- 3mV error.

Wish it helps you!

If you still have questions about it, please kindly let me know.

Best Regards,

Kerry
