Hi,
I am using ptn3460 with KOE tx18d206vm0bpa display. As a result, I get only half of the picture I need.

I attached the EDID that I use and display datasheet. I tried different modes: Vesa 24 bpp, Jeida 24 bpp, Vesa and jeida 18 bpp; Single and Dual LVDS mode etc.

What could be the problem?

Hi TomasIMG_20200630_135529.jpg

Thanks for help. Yes, I use PTN3460 in Vesa and Jeida 18bpp and Single LVDS mode. I use PTN3460, not PTN-3460I. I have identified a problem. This is the wrong polarity for signals HSync and VSync. Unfortunately, setting a positive polarity of signals through the EDID does not give a result (image attached).
Is it possible to programmatically change the polarity of the H and V sync signals?

Thanks

We also checked the ptn3460 firmware version using PTN3460_FOA_F6.exe. Version: PTN3460N1 F2. Do I need to update the controller firmware to control 6 bits (Hsync polarity) and 7 bits (Vsync polarity) of register 0x82?

Hi Oleg,

PTN3460I supports programmable H/V sync polarity (please see below and the attached AN), but PTN3460 doesn’t.

So if you need programmable H/V sync polarity feature, then you need to order PTN3460I.

Thanks for the answer, Tomas. We changed the signal hsync and vsync with the help of an ivertor, but the strip remained on the top right. Any ideas?IMG_20200705_105727.jpgIMG_20200705_105706.jpg

Hi Oleg,

Please try to use the attached EDID that was modified according to the panel specification.

You should use “Vesa and jeida 18 bpp, and Single LVDS mode” as stated in the panel specification in application.

If you are still having any issues with the new EDID file, then please send us PTN3460 portion schematics for a review.

Best regards,

Tomas
