We are an EV company and want to use the S32K3xx processor for ISO26262 ASIL-D certification of a BMS.
We were interested in using model based design with Mathworks to speed up the certification process.
I was playing around with the model based design toolbox and have questions regarding certification.
Question 1:
The toolbox does not seem like it includes the SAF library or any safety libraries. Is this accurate? Is the MBDT not sufficient for achieving ISO26262?
Question 2:
Do your customers pursuing ISO26262 use MBD for development? For testing?
Question 3:
Do your customers who use MBD use MBD for algorithm development and then manually code the usage of RTD and the safety features? Or do they use the MBDT blocks for the RTD and only manually code the safety features? Do your customers bring the safety feature code as custom code blocks into MBD?
Question 4:
I understand that we can perform MIL, SIL, and PIL on our algorithms using MBD. If we manually code the SAF usage for example, can we use Mathworks to unit test that code? Do you customers use a different tool for testing SAF code? Do we need to unit test SAF code for certification purposes?
