Hello

Trying to bring WI-FI on RT685 over SDIO but I am seeing Transfer data failed failure at the USDHC module.

On calling the below function:

USDHC_TransferNonBlocking(host->hostController.base, &host->handle, &dmaConfig, content);

I am receiving kStatus_USDHC_TransferDataFailed event at SDMMCHOST_TransferCompleteCallback function.

I tried below debugging option still seeing the same error:

Retrying mechanism.

SDIO speed changing.

SDIO bit width change.

Increased the IOCTL timeout.

Let me know if there is any configuration/flag/setting need to fix this issue.

Hi,

Could you please help me with the following data?
- Are you using the RT685-EVK or is it a custom board?
- What SDK version are you using?
- What Wi-Fi module are you using?

I did a small test on my side using SDK 2.15.00 on the EVK and using AW-NM191-uSD module and the CLI Wi-Fi demo is working correctly on my side.

Regards,
Daniel.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for looking into the issue and the response.

Please find the requested details:
- Are you using the RT685-EVK or is it a custom board?

I am using the MIMXRT685-AUD-EVK board with out any custom changes.

- What SDK version are you using?

I am using 2.13.0 SDK.

- What Wi-Fi module are you using?

I am using murata wi-fi module.

Generally when will see the kStatus_USDHC_TransferDataFailed data transfer fail event ???

How check if the sdio bus is up ?? is the any sleep configuration ??

Could you tell me which Murata module?

Could you tell what Wi-Fi SDK example are you using?

Could you please share a picture of your setup?

In this specific moment I don’t have an RT685-AUD-EVK to test it, I will try to test it next week.

It is important to let you know that the SDK version you are using is not the latest one. The latest release is 2.15.000.

Regards,

Daniel.

Could you please tell me what module are you using?

Unfortunately, it seems we don't have an RT685-AUD-EVK, so I can't try it with this device.

But I tried wifi_cli with RT1170-EVK in SDK 2.15.000, with Murata 1XK module, and it is working on my side.

Are you using external power?

Could you please try with the latest SDK release?

Daniel.

Daniel,

Are you using external power?

I am using 5V supply to power up RT1160/1170 Boards and USB to power up RT685.

I tried RT595 WI-FI is working here with internal LPO but with RT685/1160/1170 it is not working with any combination.

I thought this above info could  be helpful for you to point some solution.

I am integrating latest SDK will update the result in some time.

I have asked for murata regarding the wi-fi module once i get the same i will post to you.

Thanks again for the quick response and hope same

By external power I mean using J43 to power your board, in case of the RT1170-EVK.
Please double check that you made the correct HW rework on your setup.
In order to keep supporting you, I will need to know which wireless module you are using. Could you please also help me with a picture of your setup?

Regards,
Daniel.
