KW40Z_Connectivity_Software_1.0.1 (KSDK_1.3.0); IAR 7.50;

As PTA0 pin has multiple usage how can someone use the pin for programming / debugging and in release mode as TPM PWM output driving a load.

Is external pull-up required ?

What about mosfet pull-down ?

Fro MKW30Z the PTA0 is SWD_DIO in debug and TPM1_CH0 in release mode:

Dear Lucian Firan,

Hope you are doing great.

In theory you could use this as SWD then as TPM, after using it as SWD  you will have to  disconect the Pull-up resistor in order to use it as  TPM.

and for your second question I think there will be a problem with the pull down resistor in the Kinetis Peripheral Module Quick Reference there is a section for Hardware considerations there is the debug interface say that the SWD pins require a strong pull resistors (High or Down) to force a known state on these debug input pins.

Have a great day.

Best regards

Jonathan
