I've done a few projects with the iMXRT1060, and I'm now about to embark on an iMX8MP project.  Is there any chart that compares the M7 on the iMXRT1060 to the M7 on the iMX8?  Yea, I'll be digging into the datasheets, but figured I'd post the question while I'm doing that...

I assume things like exceptions, cache, TCM & MPU are identical (true?).

What about peripherals?  Since both devices are NXP, it would be nice to hear that some of them (UART, I2C, SPI etc...) were the same...???

Hi @EdSutter ,

As I know, the M7 in the RT1060 and the IMX8MP is similar.

There no chart that compares these two chip, as one is MCU, another is processor.

To the IMX8MP M7 memory map and IP, you can refer to the RM,

   https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=IMX8MPRM

chapter 2.3 Cortex-M7 Memory Map

and the related IP chapter.

As I know, peripherals is also similar.

If you have more question about the IMX8MP, you can create the issues in the i.mx processor area:

https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors/bd-p/imx-processors

Wish it helps you!

Best Regards,

Kerry
