RT1160/70 | capture video at 720P@10 with compression

Hello team,

My customer looking to capture and store video/movie using the mipi-csi camera interface at 10 fps with a maximum resolution of camera 720P (10 fps).
1. Please advise if iMXRT1160 oriMXRT1170  support the above requirement ?
2. Also they plan to compress the video (after storing it on an SD card), please advise back what is the best compression method in the RT1160/70?

Maximal resolution for MIPI-CSI  is 65 535 x 65 535 pixels and the maximum throughput is 75Mpix/s peak.
So, yes that resolution is supported.

Regarding the compression method, it will depend on your project requirements so I cannot give a specific recommendation.
However, I suggest you check H.264 since we already have an application note for reference: AN13205: Development of H.264 Video Encode on i.MX RT Series – Application Note (nxp.com)
