Hello NXP engineer,

I download the reference design file named  "SPF-29420_C5 of IMXQM CPU board , in the design, i found IMX8 CPU used to PMIC to supply. I check the imx8 spc,  one PMIC of PF8100 have seven buck channels(buck1~buck7) and the power current capacity of each channel cat meet the requirement of  IMX8QM's power branch consumption, so why the sch design need to use two PF8100 chips?

thanks!

Hi chunqiaohe

one pmic may be insufficient according to requirements in Table 10. Maximum supply currents

Dear igor,

thanks for your replay , i also notice the Table-10 " Maximum supply currents", but in this page have a note " Some of the numbers shown in this table are based on the companion regulator limits and not actual use cases. Work is in progress to provide use case–based numbers in future data sheet releases "
so i can't confirm whether is it accurate, and i want to reduce a product's cost, if  you advise follow the maximum supply current vlaue of the Table-10. i will do it.

   thanks!
