[iMX8X] Patch for imx-lpi2c linux driver is not able to read frame longer than 256 bytes

Hi all,

I have recently to troubleshoot a i2c communication problem with a Toradex iMX8DX Colibri board and I have discovered that the linux driver of the lpi2c is not able to read frames longer than 256 bytes.

I have found it on Toradex kernel version 5.4.193, but the imx_5.4.70_2.3.0 branch and master branches have the same problem.

I have drafted a patch to fix it, but I'm not sure where and how I should upstream it.

Shall I just post my patch here?

Kind regards

Hello,

Yes, you may share it here, but I would suggest to post it in their community as well:

Best regards,

Hello,

I have already shared it with Toradex and they recommend to share it here and eventually to mainline kernel.

I'm still investigating some instability in the communication to be sure it is not linked to the patch, but will sent share the patch

Kind regards
