i.MX 8X: Can a single QSPI chip select drive multiple Flash devices?

Hi,

The i.MX 8X QSPI module only has 4 chip selects (slave selects). In order to increase the memory capacity available, is it possible to connect to a single QSPI slave select (SS) 2 quad SPI Flash devices, the i.MX 8X seeing the as a single octal Flash device? That way, 2 chip selects could be used for 4 Flash devices and the 2 other SS could be used for other purposes.

If not, why? The QSPI can't drive only 1 SS when it communicates over the 8 data pins?

2 qspi can not be connected, sorry. Octal spi flash can be connected with single QSPI slave select (SS)

as described on Figure 18-4  i.MX 8DualXPlus/8QuadXPlus Applications Processor Reference Manual
