Slow video playback for i.mx6 with v.1.0

I was able to boot an i.MX6 SABRE-Lite board with v1.0 and v1.2

silicon.

On the v1.2 revision, I see the expected performance of video playback,

additionally, the navigation/animation is also very smooth.

On the v1.0 revision, video playback, as well as navigation/animation,

is extremely slow and stuttering.

Just wanna confirm that beginning with the 4.0.0 Freescale SDK, the v1.0 (TO1.0) silicon is

no longer supported.  Is it true?  And how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Wilson

Hi Eric,

I was confirmed from Timesys that the board with v.1.0 silicon will have slow video playback when using 4.0.0 Freescale SDK.

The board with v.1.2 silicon won't be affected.

Hi Wilson,

We saw this in the Jellybean Android release. See the notes here (including a link to the patch):

http://boundarydevices.com/second-release-jellybean-4-3-beta-mx6/#to1.0

The issue was that the clock for the GPT was set badly, such that a "sleep 1" would sleep for ~3 seconds.

We haven't seen (or noticed) this on the non-Android kernels.
