Setting up IMX6SX, IMX8MQ boards.

Hi, Using Yocto build system for IMX6/8 takes more time. Is there any other way, such as downloading the toolchain for arm/arm64, cross-compiling Uboot, Linux kernel, rootfs, dtb and copy them to SD card and boot the IMX6/8? If so kindly point me to the procedure.
